Coloured Festoon bulbs

Change the atmosphere whenever you like

The great thing about separate coloured bulbs is that you can change the look whenever you like. Screw in a few coloured bulbs and your festoon cable has a completely different look: warm white for an ordinary summer evening, colour for a birthday or garden party. Many people have two sets of bulbs and change them to suit the occasion.

All coloured or a mix?

A fully coloured festoon cable creates a bold look and works well for parties. If you want something more subtle for everyday use, mix the colours: mainly warm white with a few coloured bulbs here and there. This keeps the overall look cosy while adding a splash of colour, without making your garden look like a fairground.

Dimmable or not?

The advantage of dimmable bulbs is that you can adjust their brightness yourself. This gives you the flexibility to choose how much light you want for each occasion. The bulbs are dimmable when used with our dimmers; for outdoor use, choose an IP44 dimmer set. There are also non-dimmable versions, which are cheaper if you do not plan to dim the lighting.

Good to know

These bulbs have an E27 bulb fitting and therefore fit the bulb sockets on your festoon cable. They have an almost unbreakable polycarbonate shade, making them a practical choice for parties. When screwing in the bulb, check that the sealing ring sits properly around it. Looking for bulbs without an E27 bulb fitting? Then take a look at the push-in bulbs.
