Modern single-phase track lighting for your interior
1. How exactly do I connect the system?
At LumenXL.ie, we offer a single-phase track system. This means that your entire track system can be operated by a single switch. The tracks and connectors contain copper wires that conduct the current to the lamps.
2. My ceiling outlet is in the middle – how do I connect my track system?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions we receive at LumenXL. In most homes, the connection points for the 230V wiring are located centrally. In this case, you can extend the live and neutral wires and neatly conceal them behind the track. There is sufficient space between the rail and the ceiling, so the wires remain hidden.
Please note that this recess is not present in connectors. If you need more than one metre and want to bridge an additional section using a connector, we recommend using the i-connector with a hole with a cable opening. This allows you to neatly conceal the wiring behind the track and the connector.
3. Where do I place the spotlights on the track?
At a location of your choice. The beauty of track lighting is that it is a modular system. You can click the spotlights into place at any point on the track.
4. Can I combine spotlights?
This can be easily achieved, for example, you can mix hanging track spotlights like the Simon with our all-time favourite, the Jill.
5. Can I have my Track lighting system go in two directions from the Ceiling?
The system is powered from one side, making it impossible to create a split at your connection point and power the track system from both sides. In this case, therefore, you should follow the procedure described in question two.
6. Is the track lighting dimmable?
That depends on the light source you choose for the spotlights. We offer a range of options. For example, you can choose smart spotlights that are easy to operate with your smartphone or dim-to-warm bulbs that also change colour temperature when dimmed.
7. Can I cut the lighting tracks to size?
Yes, you can cut the rails to size using a hacksaw and a mitre box. This allows you to adjust the track to fit your space perfectly.
8. The track lighting is narrower than the junction box in the ceiling. How can I neatly conceal this?
You can use a cover plate for this. We offer these in Black and White.
9. What is the maximum number of spotlights I can attach to the Track lighting system? What is the maximum wattage?
You can connect a maximum of 15 metres and 1000W to the system. The number of spotlights you can install will depend on the wattage of each fitting, as long as the total does not exceed 1000W.
More information about connecting the Track lighting system and the Spotlights can be found in the Manual. Has your question not been answered? Our team is here to help. We are available on working days from 07:30 to 16:00 by telephone and WhatsApp on +44 20 3318 8853.
