Light intensity
For a cosy, relaxed atmosphere, our 0.7W and 1W LED bulbs are an excellent choice. Each gives around 40 lumens, comparable to a traditional 8W incandescent bulb.
If you need brighter light, we recommend our 1.5W LED bulbs at 90 lumens, or our standard 2W LED bulbs at 125 lumens, which are similar to a 20W incandescent bulb. Our 2W LED filament bulb goes further still, with an output of 200–250 lumens, comparable to a 25W incandescent bulb.
Please note that dimmable bulbs often have a higher wattage but give slightly less light at full brightness, as part of the energy powers the dimming function. For example, a standard dimmable 2W LED bulb gives around 90 lumens, while a dimmable 3W LED filament bulb reaches around 150 lumens at full brightness.
| LED bulb wattage | Lumens | Equivalent to | Recommended for |
| 0.7W warm white | 36–50 lumens | 8W bulb | Relaxing atmosphere |
| 1W warm white | 32–50 lumens | 8W bulb | Relaxing atmosphere |
| 1.5W warm white | 80–110 lumens | 15W bulb | Soft ambient lighting |
| 2W dimmable | 0–110 lumens | 15W bulb | Soft ambient lighting |
| 2W standard | 125–170 lumens | 20W bulb | Everyday lighting |
| 3W filament dimmable | 0–200 lumens | 25W bulb | Dimmable fittings |
| 2W filament non-dimmable | 200–250 lumens | 25W bulb | Everyday lighting |
| 3.5W warm white | 350 lumens | 30W bulb | Bright lighting |
Colour temperature (Kelvin)
The colour of the light from our bulbs is measured in Kelvin (K). At 2000K, the light is extra warm white, much like candlelight: soft with a slightly golden tone.
At 2650K, it resembles a traditional incandescent bulb. The light is still warm white, but less yellow and slightly brighter in appearance.
Bulbs rated at 6500K give a cool white light. As a general rule, the lower the Kelvin value, the warmer the light.
Many customers find it hard to decide between 2000K and 2650K, wondering whether one might be too warm or the other too cool. In our experience, your first instinct is usually right. As everyone's taste is different, we offer both, so you can choose the one that feels best in your space.
