Why choose a wall light?
Wall lighting adds atmosphere and makes even a dark wall feel more inviting. A wall light is a great addition to your main lighting and can help bring more depth to a room. It is also a practical choice for smaller spaces, as it takes up no floor or table space. Because the light is positioned at eye level, a wall light can make a room feel warmer and more layered than ceiling lighting alone.
Wall lights by style and material
The range is divided into clear categories, making it easy to find the right lamp for your interior: black, timeless and easy to combine with different interiors; gold, for a warm, sophisticated look; glass, from opal white globes to amber, smoked and ombre glass; travertine, natural stone with a warm, distinctive look; designer lighting, featuring distinctive shapes that stand out on the wall; industrial, with robust materials and visible details; and wall spotlights, compact spotlights for directional lighting or highlighting specific areas.
Where can you use a wall light?
Beside the bed, a wall light makes a practical reading lamp, keeping your bedside table clear while providing enough light to read. In a hallway or along a staircase, a row of wall lights adds structure while providing extra light in the evening. In the living room, use them to highlight a wall, painting or alcove. In the bathroom, wall lights can provide soft lighting beside the mirror. Always check the stated protection rating (IP rating) for bathroom use, as damp areas require lamps with a suitable IP rating.
At what height should you hang a wall light?
When installing a wall light, make sure you cannot look directly into the bulb or integrated LED. This helps prevent glare when you look towards the lamp. As a general guide, wall lights should be mounted around 5 cm above eye level. Beside the bed, you can position the lamp lower so that the light falls directly onto your book. Our wall lights connect easily to the mains and can then be operated with a switch or built-in dimmer, depending on the model.
Adjustable or fixed?
Some wall lights have a fixed design and direct the light upwards, downwards or in both directions. Other models have a rotatable, extendable or adjustable arm, allowing you to direct the light where you need it. These are particularly useful as reading lights or for highlighting a specific area. We also offer rechargeable wall lights with a touch dimmer, so you can use them without a mains connection.
Which bulb do you need?
Our wall lights are available with E27, E14, GU10 and G9 bulb fittings. The bulb fitting and size you need are listed in the specifications for each wall light. There are also models with integrated LED, so you do not need to choose a bulb yourself. If you want to connect a wall light to a dimmer, make sure you choose a dimmable bulb. For a cosy atmosphere, choose a warm white bulb of around 2700K.
