What is a cord pendant?

A cord pendant is a pendant light in its simplest form: a cord with a lampholder and no shade. The light source is fully visible, so it plays a key part in the overall look. With this metal pendant, you can create your own pendant light by choosing the light source yourself. The bulb is not included, giving you complete freedom to choose the style and brightness you want. The round metal lampholder gives the pendant a minimalist yet striking look.

Hang it high or low?

The cord has a shiny, braided finish and is height-adjustable, so you can choose how high to hang the pendant. It works just as well high up on the ceiling as it does lower down beside the sofa or in a corner. In the dining room, keep the pendant 80 to 100 cm above the tabletop. For more impact, combine several cord pendants at different heights to create a cluster.

Which bulb should you choose for a cord pendant?

Because the bulb is fully visible, it plays an important part in the overall look. An E27 filament bulb with a visible filament is a classic choice. For a more striking look, take a look at our large bulbs. Their larger size and spiral-shaped filament make them a feature in their own right. A bulb with amber glass also creates a warm, golden glow. Just check the maximum wattage: our separate cord pendants are suitable for E27 bulbs up to 12W.
