What is an LED ceiling light?

With an LED ceiling light, the light source is built into the fitting, so there is no need to choose a separate bulb or lamp holder. A ceiling light usually hangs centrally in the room, so we have selected models that combine functionality with atmosphere. This leaves you free to focus on choosing a design that suits your interior.

The advantages at a glance

Because they don't need a lamp holder, LED ceiling lights can have a much flatter design than models with a separate bulb. This makes them ideal for rooms with low ceilings and for hallways. LEDs are also energy-efficient and have a long lifespan, which is particularly useful in hard-to-reach places such as above a staircase or in the attic. Most models give off warm white light (2700K), creating a cosy atmosphere.

Dimming with an LED ceiling light

Many LED ceiling lights are 3-step dimmable. With these models, you can switch between 100%, 50% and 7% brightness using your ordinary wall switch, without needing a separate dimmer. The light also remembers your last chosen setting. Other models can be dimmed with a wall dimmer switch, allowing you to smoothly adjust the brightness. Fixed LED or a replaceable bulb?

Integrated LED combines convenience with a sleek, flat design, but the light colour is fixed. If you prefer to choose your own bulb, for example a filament bulb behind glass, choose a model with an E27 lamp holder. This gives you the freedom to choose the look and brightness that suits your space. LED ceiling lights come in a wide variety of styles, from black with a stone-effect finish to models with an oak wood-effect finish.
